The Smackover-Norphlet School District will be closed for on-campus instruction on the following days due to inclement weather:

  • Tuesday, February 16 – Smackover Preschool
  • Wednesday, February 17 – All campuses

For K-12 students, Tuesday was already a scheduled day off.

Wednesday will be considered a virtual/AMI day.

The district is watching the weather forecast for the remainder of the week.  It is possible that on-campus instruction will be closed for the remainder of the week if inclement weather continues.

Please note the following:

On-Campus/Quarantine Students

  • If your student is an on-campus or quarantined student, please complete the second day of the updated AMI packet on Wednesday which was sent home.
  • You can access additional digital copies of this work at https://www.smackover.net/page/ami-folders
  • Students will be expected to turn in their AMI packets for a grade when school reopens.  Students not able to complete assignments because of outages, lack of internet, etc. will be given an extended deadline.

Virtual Classroom Students

  • Continue to complete your assignments in BUZZ for K-5 students or APEX for 6-12 grade students.

High School Students Enrolled in an Online Course through Virtual Arkansas or SouthARK Community College

  • If you have Internet access, log into your student account for these classes and complete the assignments which have been given to you by those instructors. (If you do not have access, you will be able to communicate that to your instructor when we return to on-site instruction.)

Please stay safe and enjoy the snow!
