We are excited to announce that Holly Strickland will be moving into the new role of Executive Director of Academic Leadership and School Improvement for SNSD! Mrs. Strickland served 14 years as a classroom teacher before serving as SES principal for the past 11 years! As leader of SES, Mrs. Strickland’s passion to develop positive relationships with students, staff and the community have produced life changing results.
In 2010, SES was designated as a school in need of improvement by the Arkansas Department of Education. With a shared vision from the entire staff, the SES team utilized data based decisions, work ethic and team work resulting in being removed from the state school improvement list within a three year period. A year removed from a school in need of improvement, Smackover Elementary School was recognized as a top ten exemplary school in Arkansas and continues to maintain a B rating to date. While leading SES, her team has displayed the pride and commitment it takes to make SES a great place and we are excited that she will bring her experience, drive and passion to all of SNSD.
As Mrs. Strickland moves into the next chapter of her educational career we look forward to her leadership, positive attitude and team approach as she helps move SNSD forward.
We will begin the process of assembling an interview committee and selecting our next principal at SES immediately and Mrs. Strickland will play a vital role in helping make that decision.
